At the University of Derby, we have created a unique venue via Derby Theatre, The UK’s only Learning Theatre. Derby Theatre is used to facilitate research and create strong relationships between practitioners, students, schools, young people and academics. Annual events include the Departure Lounge, a ground-breaking festival in the heart of the country in which the Theatre is illuminated by extraordinary performances, workshops, installations and discussion.
As the UK’s only Learning Theatre, Derby Theatre runs a number of successful undergraduate and postgraduate courses inlcuding BA (Hons) Theatre Arts, BA (Hons) Technical Theatre and Performance Design, and MA Applied Theatre and Education.
Derby Theatre, is a charity and a National Portfolio organisation for Arts Council England.
